Evelyn Cornelius' Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn Cornelius was born in Tate County, MS on October 30, 1920 to Raymond Reed McKie and Birdie Evelyn Kyle of Tyro, MS. She was married in 1943 and preceeded in death by her husband, Ira E. Cornelius. Mrs. Cornelius retired from the Carpenters Local Union 345 in 1985 where she had the pleasure of working with Memphis area carpenters in the financial office. Mrs. Cornelius was a long-time active member of the McWherter Center in Memphis, TN as a Senior Leader member and attended Spanish, Current Events, Ceramics, and Stained Glass classes. Mrs. Cornelius was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and the Balmoral Neighborhood Association forming many dear friendships. Mrs. Cornelius is survived by four nieces and one nephew.
