Ms. Wagner was born on September 24, 1931 to Robert Everley Wagner and Margaret Butler Wagner in Luxora, Arkansas. Besides her parents, Eve was also preceded in death by her brothers E.C. "Tenner" Wagner, Thomas "Tommy" Wagner and her sister, Emma Lou Hamm.
Eve is survived by four sisters, Linda Cathey of Paragould, Arkansas, Mildred "Mickey" Orr of Byhalia, Mississippi, Diane Lucas (James) of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Mary Mosley (Charles) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, six special nephews; Jessie Wagner, David Wagner, Roger Wagner, James Martin, Michael Martin and Chris Hamm. One special niece, Sandra Martin as well as numerous other nephews and nieces, their children and their children's children and a very special aunt, Bertie Wagner Harris.
Eve was blessed to live a cinderella type story from the early years of her life. Having been "discovered" for her beauty in her very young years she became a model. She was raised by the simplest of means in a farming family in the south during the depressions years. Eve went on to become an established and successful model from the late 40's thru the 60's in New York City, Greece and Brazil. She worked hard and saw her dreams come true.
Eve was the families own "movie star" in the modeling pictures she sent home. While living in New York, Eve was rubbing shoulders with movie stars and moving in the best social circles with well-know business people around the world.
Eve loved to travel to places around the world; Greece being a favorite summer place for her to go. A fun note about Eve's travels; when she packed, she didn't take luggage, she took trunks!
Eve was also a smart businesswoman, in the 60's she co-owned a dress shop in New York City with Alicia Prats, wife of Red Buttons. Later her love of beauty turned her to the field of skincare. She owned and operated a Christine Valmay skincare business in New York City for many years until she tired of the fast-pace New York City life and decided to return to her roots.
In 1980, Eve returned to the south where most of her family lived at the time, she settled in Germantown, Tennessee.
After a short while, Eve again started her own successful business, but this time in Germantown Tennessee. Finishing Touch Skincare featured the Christine Valmy skincare products of New York City. Eve's business was open and successful until she was ready to retire.
Eve was a beautiful model, entrepreneur and a smart and successful businesswoman, but more than that....she was a daughter, sister, aunt, niece and a friend that we are all so very proud of. Eve was never a quitter; she was a doer and she did! Rest in peace dear Eve, what a woman you were! We love you!
