Eva Virginia Salisbury's Obituary
Eva Virginia Salisbury, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, August 11, 2012 at Baptist East Hospice surrounded and deeply loved by her family and friends. Mrs. Salisbury was preceded in death by her husband, Orlo Glen Salisbury and her son, Glen Orlo Salisbury as well as her sisters, Ruth Cloetingh and Leona DeVilbess. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan to Anna and Jon Cloetingh. Her mother died in childbirth and her father died when Eva was 5 years old. As a teenager, Eva moved to Peoria, IL where she met and married her husband of 47 years. Eva and Orlo raised four children, Charles Glen, Leslie Arnold (Barbara), Glen Orlo, and Carolyn Lynne Ennis (Fred) before moving to Memphis in 1975. Mrs. Salisbury was an avid golfer and a long term member of Windyke Country Club. She loved to travel and spent many vacations enjoying cruises, and trips to Europe and the Holy Land. Eva was a long term member of Central Church in Collierville where she was actively involved in Senior Ministries and other volunteer activities. Mrs. Salisbury leaves behind, 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 15 in the Chapel at Central Church, 2005 Winchester Blvd., Collierville, TN 38017 with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be left in her name to the Senior Ministries Department of Central Church, Collierville, TN.
