Eva Green's Obituary
Eva Johnson Green, age 98, formerly a resident of Wesley Highland Terrace, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013, in Baldwin, Georgia. Born in Munson, Florida, on August 02, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Rev. A.C. Johnson and Virginia Richardson Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon T. Green, along with eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Green was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Green worked as administrative assistant to the Chief of Surgical Service for the Veterans Administration Medical Center of Memphis, Tennessee, for 40 years. She was a member of the Greater Memphis Square and Round Dance Association. Prior to moving to Georgia, she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Memphis. She was a talented pianist and enjoyed playing for church groups, friends and family. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Carole and Bill Jackson of Homer, GA and Sandra and Jim Keif of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren, Barth and Amy Jackson of Athens, GA, Jennifer and Jack Brinson of Raleigh, NC, Cathy Nelson of Dayton, OH, Jeff and Holly McCaskill of Hernando MS; great-grandchildren, Casey and Kevin Nelson; Griffin and Jessica Jackson; Myles, Georgie and Sophie McCaskill; Jackson and Charlie Queen. Memorial services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar with Dr. David Breckenridge officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to Music Ministry, First Baptist Church, 200 East Parkway N., Memphis, TN 38112.
