Eva Jourdan Foster's Obituary
Eva Jourdan Foster, 97, of New Albany, MS formerly of Memphis passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-New Albany. She was born in Iuka, MS and was a retiree of Sears, Roebuck and Co. Mrs. Foster had a gentle, loving spirit and enjoyed life to its fullest. She will be missed, was loved and respected by many who would acknowledge that their life was blessed to have known her as their friend. Her love and concern for her friends made each one feel they were very special. Mrs. Foster was known for her scrumptious fried chicken, vegetable dishes, homemade rolls and wonderful cakes and pies. She was instrumental in organizing the Sears Retiree Club where she was an officer for many years and was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; two brothers, Lyman and Dayton Jourdan; one sister, Reba Mott; and a nephew, Jerry Jourdan. She is survived by one nephew, Steve Jourdan; and her caregivers, Bill and Joan Hix. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service time at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
