Eugenia "Jeanie" Peck's Obituary
Eugenia Cunningham Peck, 88, of San Antonio, TX, formally of Memphis, TN, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 10, 2012. Born in Uniontown, Alabama and beloved three-time widow, Jeanie lived at the Air Force Villages in San Antonio for more than 24 years. Jeanie was dedicated to her family, and loved to garden, dance, and sing. She was a medical secretary for 20 years in the Memphis medical center area. Jeanie was involved in church choirs from age 23. She was President of Women’s Missionary Union in Memphis for 2 terms and served in many Ministries throughout the years. Jeanie is survived by a sister Frances Dyer of San Antonio, and a brother John “Sonny” Meredith; 2 children and their families; one son; Jere P. Cunningham, Jr. and wife Velvalea; one daughter; Dorothy Smith and husband Rev. Dan Smith. Jeanie had 4 grandchildren; Hart and Elaine; and Meredith and John David respectively, and 1great grandson, Ethan. Her service will be held at Air Force Village I Chapel San Antonio, Texas on February 13, at 10a.m. There will be a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. in Memphis, on Thursday, February 16th at 11a.m. where she will be buried beside Jere P. Cunningham, Sr.
