Eugene West Williams' Obituary
Eugene West Williams, Jr., 83, of Memphis died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Methodist University Hospital.Born in Wheatley, AR. Mr. Williams was a dedicated Christian and active member of Second Presbyterian Church. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Williams retired twice, first from Graybar Electric, and then from RT Electrical Sales. His first love was the Boy Scouts. He served as Scoutmaster for Troop 86 at Second Presbyterian for over 12 years. He was also active in the White Station Lion’s Club as president and held other offices, too. He graduated from Central High School in 1942. Mr. Williams loved golf and fishing.He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dora Marsh Williams, his son, Jake Williams (Cindy) of Bradenton, FL; his daughter, Jan Horack (Richard) of Knoxville, TN; step children, Charles Marsh (Lyn) of Cranberry Township, PA, Carl Marsh (Joan) of Nashville, TN, and Karen Watson (Barry) of Toronto, Canada, one brother, Michael Williams (Betty) of Hernando, MS, and one sister Alice Rogers (Bruce) of Jackson, TN, 2 grand children, Danielle Williams and West Horack, and 7 step grandchildren.Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Riverside Chapel. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.The family requests that memorials be sent to Boy Scout Troop 86 at Second Presbyterian Church, or Methodist Hospice, or the Germantown Lion’s Club.
