Eugene Thomas Moxley's Obituary
Eugene Thomas "Tom" Moxley,95, passed from this life on April 5th, 2021. Preceding him in death was his father, William Moxley, his mother, Evelyn Luke Moxley, and a daughter Annette Moxley-Scott.
Tom, a lifelong resident of Memphis, graduated from Tech High School and Memphis State University. He was a proud World War II veteran serving in the United States Army and a senior Olympic medalist. He was a member at Ellendale Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a 28 year veteran of the Memphis Police Department and later retired from City of Bartlett Animal Control.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Melba C. Moxley, and a son Gene Moxley(Karen) of Bartlett, TN and a daughter, Gail Buster of Palm Desert, CA. He leaves seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Methodist Hospice for their comfort and support during this time.
Visitation will be Friday, April, 9th, from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home with service to follow at 2:30 pm. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ellendale Baptist Church.
