Ethel McPherson's Obituary
Ethel Elam McPherson (98), of Bartlett, TN passed away on February 7, 2012, at Allen Morgan Nursing Home. She was born in Whitehaven, TN on January 29, 1914, to Ruth Crenshaw Elam and John Edward Elam, who preceded her in death. She graduated from West Tennessee State Teachers College, now the University of Memphis. She was a retired school teacher and a longtime member of Lindenwood Christian Church. She was a member of the Bartlett Garden Club and won several awards for her arrangements. Mrs. McPherson was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David E. McPherson; and her sister, Sarah Elam Kaestle. She is survived by her nieces, Sally Kaestle Dunn of Bartlett and Mary McPherson King of Nashville; as well as her great-nieces, Sarah, Lauren, and Emily Dunn. A service will be held Friday, February 10th at 11:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, both at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. She loved flowers but anyone wishing to send a memorial, may send one to Lindenwood Christian Church.
