Esther Annette Bannister's Obituary
Esther Annette Bannister “Grams”, 85, of Columbia, TN, formally of Hopkinsville, KY, Memphis, TN and Melbourne, FL, died Thursday September 15th 2016 in Athens, GA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am-12:00 pm followed by the service at 12:30 pm Sunday, September 25th in Memphis, TN. Services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery with burial at Memorial Park. Annette was born February 25th, 1931 in Memphis, TN. She worked at Dunlap Sales and First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville, KY; International Paper in Memphis, TN. She attended Central High School and Memphis State University in Memphis, TN. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, active with United Methodist Women and the Christian County Homemakers Club. Annette and her late husband Bob, enjoyed traveling and camping with Airstream International and Alabama Rallies. They were both football fans and enjoyed the beach especially in Melbourne, FL. Annette was the wife of the late Robert (Bob) E. Bannister. Daughter of Lawrence Malcom Palmquist and Phoebe Christine Iverson Palmquist; sister Mable (Meg) Graves of Franklin, TN. She leaves behind three daughters Christy Whaley (Patrick) of Morehead City, NC; Debbie Golden (Rick) of Athens, GA, and Elaine Harris (Gaylon) of Columbia, TN; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Shelly), Elizabeth (Casey), David, Robert (Mallory), Richard, Christopher, Jennifer, Jackson; two great grandchildren Naomi and McKenzie.Grams strong Christian faith, beautiful smile and tender heart was loved by many. She will truly be missed, but we know she is dancing with her husband and shining down on us..Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Celebrating Life Behind the Stone Wall”.
