Ernie Lee Foley Dew Satterfield's Obituary
Ernie Satterfield went home to be with Jesus on January 24, 2019. She fought a long battle with Myasthenia Gravis and Parkinsons.Born on December 14, 1933 to Mildred Munstermann Foley and William Goebal Foley, Ernie was the youngest of five children.She grew up in Shelby County, attended Levi Elementary/Middle School then graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1951. At eighteen, she married her high school sweetheart, David Dew. After 27 years of family centered adventure, Ernie was widowed at the age of forty-six. She began a second chapter of her life with Bob Satterfield (GranBob) who passed away in 1997.She was a loving matriarch to four children; William C Dew of Nashville TN (Charyl), Myra E May of Mandeville LA (Turk), Rebecca L Shore of San Angelo, TX (Chuck) and Amy L Montgomery of Crescent OK (Paul) ten grandchildren; Erin Rhodes (Marcus), Ashley Haguewood (Ben), JD Shore (Lindy), JW Shore, Andrew Simunic (Shawn), Myra Luedecke (Jacob), Anna May, Katy Wallin (Josh), David Montgomery (Madison) and Brooks May, ten great-grandchildren, and fifteen nieces and nephews.Ernie was a 20 + year employee of Designers Choice of Memphis where she loved her work as a floral designer. Her unique gift of being a listener nurtured many deep friendships throughout her life.Ernie was a natural beauty. Her physical beauty was surpassed only by a beautiful inner spirit. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, January 27th from 5pm until 7pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis.
