Uncle Ernest was such a great influence in my life and always a joy to be around. I enjoyed our trips to Memphis to visit Aunt Margret and Uncle Ernest when we were young. He would take David and me in the back yard to play with his birddog. I also remember the time that he brought David and me a couple of birddog puppies and we named them Miss and Sam. Uncle Earnest would show us how to train them with a pole and fishing line with an old sock tied to the line, according to his instructions this was how you taught them how to point. I don’t know what he got the most enjoyment out of watching the puppies or watching David and myself trying to train them. He was always quick with a joke and seemed to always be full of laughter and joy. He was strong male role model for me as well as for my brothers and sisters. I never saw him in a bad mood or use harsh language. He was such a good husband to Aunt Margret and so nice to our Granma and Grandpa Phagan.God has truly called one of his Angels home and I am so glad that he will be reunited with his loving wife and all the others that God called home before him. I will love you always, Nephew Chris Phagan Shreveport, LARev. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
