Eric Fields' Obituary
Eric Whiting Fields, 62, Cordova, TN, went gracefully and beautifully into the arms of the Lord that he served so faithfully on July 13, 2010. He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, December 29, 1947 to Anna M. and Marion L. Fields. His wife of 38 years, Nancy Sue Fields survives. Mr. Fields received a masters degree from The University of Missouri, was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Alpha Kappa Upsilon Iota, and taught at several universities. He was involved in numerous ministry positions, including board director for the Emporia Kansas Salvation Army. Mr. Fields served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard as a First Lieutenant. For 16 years, he was a devoted field account manager with Spring Arbor Distributors. His lifelong loves encompassed his wife and family. He was an expert gardener, handcrafted beautiful furniture, loved music, the beach, and University of Memphis and Missouri sports. He and Nancy are active members of Hope Presbyterian Church and previously attended Germantown Baptist Church. Surviving are sons: Sean Thomas Fields, Bellingham WA, and Brian David Fields, Winter Park, CO; two daughters: Heather Ann Menees, Cumming, GA, and Allison Elizabeth Fields, Cordova, TN; brother David; sisters, Nancy and Lee Ann, Columbia, MO; Isabelle, Ethan, Jack, Hannah, and Haley, his precious grandchildren. He is adored and honored by his family, to whom he provided unconditional love and many blessed character gifts. He is immeasurably missed by those who love him dearly. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm Friday July 16, 2010 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Memphis TN. Life celebration officiated by Rev. Eli Morris 1pm Saturday July 17, at Hope Presbyterian Church 8500 Walnut Grove Rd., Cordova TN, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery . Memorial Contributions to be made to the Salvation Army.
