Enis Austin's Obituary
Enis Austin, 94, passed October 27, 2013. He was born November 24, 1918 in Finley, TN to Perry and Vealy Austin. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ruth; son, Larry (Barbara); two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Martin. He was preceded in death by his previous wife of 43 years, Juliette. Mr. Austin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was Scottish Rite Mason. He was a gifted musician, singer, and dancer. He had a regular radio program on a Jackson, TN station, and his country music band once played at the Grand Ole Opry. Mr. Austin was a man that could fix and build just about anything. His talents included carpentry, metal working, ceramics, painting, and tool & die making. Visitation will be 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31 and funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, November 1 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Burial will follow in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
