Emmett Taylor's Obituary
Emmett LeNORD Taylor, 84, of Memphis passed away peacefully October 26, 2012 to be with his Lord after a courageous 33 year battle with Parkinson‘s disease. A native Memphian, he served as an air traffic controller for the FAA for 30 years. Prior to his service in the FAA, Emmett served in the United States Air Force 314th Troop Carrier Wing and was awarded the Soldier’s Medal of Heroism for saving the life of a drowning airman in Cold Bay, Alaska in 1953. Emmett was a member of the Bartlett High School class of 1946. He married Charlotte Adair in 1949 and they enjoyed 63 years together. Mr. Taylor is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Adair Taylor; sons, Greg Taylor of Chicago, Illinois and Jeff Taylor of Memphis; grandchildren, Colby Taylor of Memphis, Audrey and Harrison Taylor both of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Judy Taylor of Memphis; brother, James Taylor of Olive Branch, Mississippi. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
