Genevieve Emma Reynolds' Obituary
Emma Genevieve Smith Reynolds, 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, March 15, 2011. Genevieve was born January 9, 1919, to Emma Stewart Smith and Robert Smith in St. Louis, Missouri. Genevieve was the widow of Jack J. Reynolds, partner in Ernst & Young, who passed away in 1992. She graduated from Washington University, in St. Louis, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Genevieve also earned her Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Illinois. She was retired from the Memphis Public Library. Genevieve was a former member of Chickasaw Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee and Deer Creek Country Club in Deerfield Beach, Florida. She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Reynolds Brenner of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and sons, John Alan Reynolds and William Charles Reynolds. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Lindsay Reynolds Brenner of Jacksonville, Florida, Sean Reynolds of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Layne Reynolds, Destin, Florida. Genevieve is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2:30 PM at the Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis, Tennessee. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 PM, prior to the 2:30 service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hope Seniors Day Care Center, 1560 Roberts Dr. Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250, where she left many friends, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the charity of their choice.
