Emma Jean Glass Neal's Obituary
Emma Jean Glass Neal, 85 of Germantown, surrounded by her family, went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2016. Emma was born to Raymond and Edna Glass on July 18, 1930 in the historic Fort Pickering area of Memphis. She married Dr. Charles Neal in 1948. Emma was a member of Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church and was a 40 + year member of the prayer group that met at her home. She loved and supported Evangelical Christian School, which her husband was one of the founders. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edna Glass; loving husband of 62 years, Dr. Charles Neal; sons, Chuck Neal, David Neal; grandsons, Bradley Harris, Brian Neal; son-in-law, Paul McDaniel; sisters, Joye Smith, Sandy Whittington and brother, Buddy Glass. She leaves behind her daughters, Kathy N. Harris (Brad), Julie McDaniel; daughter-in-laws, JoAnne Clark (Nick), Cissie Neal; grandchildren, Julie Marino (John), Calvin Harris (Rachel), Jessie Harvey (Phil), Anne Ammons (Chris), Charlie Neal, Leah Cunningham (Elliot), David Neal, II (Mary), John Neal, Allison Gurley (Clifton), Robert McDaniel, Jr. (Katie), Leesa Brandon (Christopher), Joseph McDaniel, Mollye McDaniel and her great grandchildren, Emmarie Marino, Nealy Marino, Story Marino, Kepler Harris, Ellen Harvey, Dietrich Harvey, Booker Ammons, Caleb Cunningham, Walker Cunningham, Harrison Cunningham, Annabelle Gurley, Emma Kate, Caroline McDaniel, Sydney Brandon, Christopher Brandon and Julianne Brandon. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 7 from 10 am until 11:45 and funeral services will begin at 12 pm both at Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Evangelical Christian School, Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church or Covenant College.Her services have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38119.
