Emily Mai Sharp's Obituary
Emily Mai Sharp, 88, died September 1, 2012 at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis. Emily was a former faulty member at Mills College in New York City and later worked extensively training teachers and developing curriculum for Head Start programs in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. She was a published author including a book Food for Great Talk. Emily, originally of Jackson, TN, was pre-deceased by her parents L.D. Sharp and Loula Russell Sharp and her sister Caroline Sharp. She is survived by cousins Margaret Gauldin of Humboldt, Sarah Anne Nichols of Memphis, and Lance Russell of Gulf Breeze, FL; her caretakers Paige Godat and Halene Thompson; and other cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7 in the chapel of Methodist Hospice Residence.
