The Lord saw fit to open his arms to welcome Emilio D. Vigil home on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the age of 87. Emilio was born in Colmor, New Mexico to Santiago and Melior Vigil. He served in the United States Air Force from Read Obituary
Holly and I are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Emilio. Although I did not work with Emilio, I did work for many years at NWS Memphis and met Emilio through our local AMS/NWA group and through many office get togethers. He was a very kind and thoughtful person. He always made an effort to make us new forecasters feel part of the NWS Memphis family. We became friends over the years and I always respected his contributions to meteorology and forecasting. I also had the opportunity to meet his wife Gail who also shared Emilio's kindness.
We want to send our condolences to Gail and family and know that you will be in our prayers. Although this is a very sad time, I hope you all can take comfort in all of the good memories and the wonderful times we had to spend with Emilio.

So saddened to learn of Emilio's passing. I started work with the National Weather Service in Memphis in the late 70s as an intern with Emilio as a lead forecaster. We worked together until his retirement. He was a great mentor and friend to me. He always spoke lovingly of Gail and was so proud of their sons. We continued to talk often through the years and I will deeply miss his phone calls. May God comfort Gail and sons during this time of grief. Joe Lowery
