Eloise Nelson Wentz's Obituary
Eloise Nelson Wentz, 99, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A C Nelson, passed away September 22, 2009 from heart failure 62 days prior to her 100th birthday. She was under Hospice care at KingsBridge Retirement Center in Atlanta, GA. A native of Memphis, TN, Eloise was born November 23, 1909.Eloise worked at the US Seed Grain Office in Memphis during the 1930’s where she met her husband Clyde Wentz, who serviced the data entry machines. After the war she was a stay at home mom. She enjoyed gardening, playing Canasta, and family fishing trips. A long time member of 100 year old Springdale Methodist Church, she was a Charter member of the Kings Daughters, a Methodist women’s service organization. She lived in Memphis for 84 years before moving to Atlanta, GA in 1993 to be near her son.She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde R. Wentz, Sr., sisters Mildred Gilliland Shelton of Memphis and Hazel Warren of Little Rock, AR, brother Alfred Clyde Nelson Jr., of Clarksdale, MS and granddaughter Katherine Wentz Williams (Tim) of Apex, NC. She is survived by her son Clyde R. Wentz Jr. (Jane) of Lilburn, GA, granddaughters Jennifer Wentz of Atlanta, Patricia Wentz Andress (Rob) of Enterprise, AL, great-granddaughters Ashley and Shannon Williams of Apex, NC, and great grandson Graham Andress of Enterprise, AL.The funeral service will be Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11:00 at Memorial Park Fireside Chapel. A visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 Saturday. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
