Ellen Pitre's Obituary
Ellen Marie Nieporte Pitre, 74, of Memphis, went to her eternal rest August 5, 2014. She was at home and surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Edmund ONeil Pitre, and is survived by her son, Edmund ONeil Pitre, Jr., of Memphis; her daughter, Dawn Pitre Likens, of Senatobia, Mississippi; two sisters, Linda James of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Sandra Nieporte of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; two brothers, Tom Morgan of Las Vegas, Nevada, and William Nieporte of Hawaii; three grandchildren, Nicolas Pitre, Cory Likens and Caitlin Likens; two great grandchildren, Lacy Likens and Owen Likens; and scores of loving friends at the Monarch Condominiums who affectionately referred to her as “Betty Crocker.” Mrs. Pitre was a communicant at Holy Rosary Catholic Church for over 40 years. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday, August 10 at Holy Rosary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary on Monday, August 11 at 10 a.m. Memorials to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
