Ellen Merolla's Obituary
Ellen Patricia Merola, 75, of Memphis, TN., passed away on January 13, 2018 at Methodist North Hospital. A private family service was held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday the 21st. She was born July 18, 1942 in Pensacola, FL. Mrs. Merola was the daughter of Chester Allen and Margaret Carnley Allen. Her father was a Naval Chief and they lived in many different states until settling in Millington, TN in 1950. In her teen years she loved to dance, was Miss Junior Millington (1959), participated in the Cotton Carnival for which she made her own costumes. Pat Allen, as she was known at the time graduated from Millington High in 1960. Multi talented, Ellen was adventurous, imaginative, inquisitive and highly creative. She worked for Union Planters Bank, managed a medical office, and in her fifties received a Bachelors degree in computer science. Raising five children, she instilled in them an understanding of quality, holding to your standards/beliefs, setting high goals and so much more. The love she held for her husband and children was immeasurable. Mrs. Merola leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Joseph A. Merola, sisters Janice Marcy and Barbara Cox, five children: Allen Vaughn Lewis and wife Beverly Lewis, Michael Dane Lewis, Timothy Bryan Lewis and wife Karen Lewis, Jeffrey Scott Lewis, Rachel Ellen Stewart Kothe. Grandchildren are Hunter Lewis, Conrad Lewis, Tyler Kothe, Jessica Kothe and her son Reese Michael Churchill, Alex Lewis and Willie Lewis.
