Elizabeth Sossaman's Obituary
Elizabeth “Lib” H. Sossaman, 91, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 27 with family by her side. Lib was born to Oscar L. and Vaskie L. Hethcox on February 9, 1921, the fourth of six children. She grew up on a dairy farm in High Point, North Carolina, and worked as secretary to the president of High Point College before marrying Robert A. Sossaman (deceased) on July 12, 1946. She was a devoted mother to her three sons, Bill, Ken (deceased) and Bob. She will forever be remembered by her eight grandchildren, Rainer, Lucy, Joana, Allison, David, Greg, Allyn, and Jackson, and she cherished her two great-grandchildren, Ava and Harrison. Lib was an active member of her church until her death, and volunteered for the Food Bank and MIFA. She was an avid bridge player and gardner. She touched the lives of many with her faith and generosity. Friends are invited to visit with the Sossaman family in the parlor at Evergreen Presbyterian Church at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 2. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11 AM. The family wishes that donations be made to the Food Bank and MIFA in lieu of flowers.
