Our beloved mother, Elizabeth Gonzalez Rivera, age 66, passed away on Friday morning, August 16, 2024, due to a car accident.
Elizabeth was born on February 6th, 1958, in Manhattan, NY. She moved back to Puerto Rico where she lived her childhood. Our mother graduated from the Interamericana University majoring in Biology, Chemistry, and Physiology and she also graduated as a Dental Technician. At the age of 42 in the year 2000, we all moved to Memphis, TN. Our mother always cared for us and watched after us with a diligent eye. Her faith in God always was taught to us which made us the men we are today.
As the years progressed, we gave mom grandkids which she loved so much and prayed for every single day. We spoke to mom and visited her as much as possible and she always had a smile when greeting us. We were able to give mom a few years without financial worries by taking care of everything and this helped our family grow further.
Our mother was always checking on everyone and praying that we were okay and now we know she is still doing this from above in heaven. She is survived by her loving sister, Emine Gonzalez-Adkins, and two loving sons, Aref Ghrayeb and Rafael Nabil Ghrayeb, and her grandchildren, EmmaSofia, Abdel Rafael and Hannah. We have received so many thoughtful messages in the past week and we know she is as survived by all her loving friends as well.
Services for Elizabeth will be held on Monday, August 26th, 2024, at 3:00 pm in the Garden of Reflection Graveside, with visitation starting at 1:30 pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery.
