Elizabeth Parker's Obituary
Joe V. Ledbetter, 78, died August 4, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He was born April 15, 1932 in Lexington, TN and moved to Memphis where he worked for many years before retiring from the Army Corps of Engineers in 1998. He was an avid gardener, loved music, had many skills, and was able to fix almost anything. He was a member of Mullins United Methodist Church where he served faithfully until recent health problems. He is survived by his loving wife Kay Tullis Ledbetter; a brother, Vincent Ledbetter and nephews Barry Ledbetter, Byron Ledbetter and Bryce Ledbetter of Memphis; a sister, Evelyn Jackson and nephew Garth Jackson of Lexington, TN. He was preceded in death by a son, Joel Ledbetter. He is survived by a son, Garry Ledbetter of Decatur, AL; daughter, Barbara Pratt of Lexington, TN; daughter Becky Ledbetter, of Parson, TN; and several grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, August 6 from 11:00-1:00, followed by Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be Saturday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m., at Rock Hill Cemetery in Lexington, TN. Any memorials may be made to Mullins United Methodist Church or charity of the donor’s choice.
