Elizabeth Mae McCaughan Buxbaum's Obituary
Elizabeth Mae McCaughan Buxbaum of Batesville,MS, 87, died of natural causes on Dec.24,2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS in Oxford, MS. Elizabeth was born to the late Whit and Sue McCaughan on June 21, 1922 in Memphis, TN. She attended Miss Lee’s School and Blue Mountain College. During WWII she was an active member of the Women’s Defense Corp of America. Elizabeth was employed as a Heart Monitor Technician by Baptist Memorial Hospital-Central in Memphis until retirement, and she worked part-time for Home Plus Health Care a division of Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis. In 2000, she moved to Batesville, MS to be close to her daughter and her family. At the time of her death she was residing at Graceland Care Center of Oxford, MS. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Nina-Sue Patrick, son -in-law Thomas Patrick, grandson, Melvin Greer, III of Hernando, MS, Step-granddaughter Ashley Garland of Germantown, TN , step-grandson Dr. Scott Patrick Baymiller and cousins Ruth McCaughan Morrison of Germantown, TN and Ann McCaughan Kitts of Memphis. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center, Memphis, TN.
