Elizabeth Ann Hurst, 84, of Memphis, TN, passed away on January 9, 2024 in Plano, TX after a brief illness.
A memorial service celebrating Elizabeth’s life will be held on February 2nd at 1:30pm at St. Louis Catholic Church - located at 203 S. White Station Rd, Memphis, TN 38117 - followed by a private graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Elizabeth was born on January 8, 1940 in Memphis to William and Dorothy Gold. She married Thomas Cordell Hurst on November 3, 1956. Elizabeth enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son Andrew Hurst (Beth) of Linden, TN; daughter-in-law Shelley Hurst, of Drummonds, TN; beloved grandsons Justin Barnett (Fran) of Burlison, TN, Christopher Hurst (Elizabeth) of Olive Branch, MS, Alex Hurst (Kelli) of Trumann, AR, and Drew Hurst (Katie) of Southaven, MS; great-grandchildren Payton Barnett, Samantha Barnett, Lauren Barnett, Megan Barnett, Jase Cole, Andrew Hurst, and Caroline Hurst. Elizabeth is also survived by her siblings Bill Gold (Barbara); Kathy Albrecht (Greg); Jack Gold (Nancy), and Dorothy Gold.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Cordell Hurst; son, Thomas Cordell Hurst, Jr.; and grandson, Bryan Barnett.
