Elizabeth Perkins Graham's Obituary
Elizabeth “Beth” Perkins Graham, 75, of Memphis, TN lost her valiant battle with cancer on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Methodist Hospital-North. To the end she was a positive role model for all who knew her.Beth leaves her loving husband of 53 years, William T. “Bill” Graham, children; Marcy and Jeff foster of Bartlett TN, Jenny and Glenn Till of Lawrenceville GA, granddaughter; Jacquelyn Danielle Foster of Bartlett TN, and her sister; Marilyn Perkins Hallbrook of Little Rock AR, and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Col. Wheeler Ross Perkins and Carolyn Thibodeaux Perkins and by her sister; Janice Perkins Montgomery.Beth was born in Glade Springs, VA and grew up in many places as the child of an Army officer.She graduated from Little Rock High School cum laude and also graduated from Southwestern College, (now Rhodes College) in 1954 in Memphis where she was in Zeta Tau Alpha. After her children where older, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from University of Memphis, and became a gifted teacher of Memphis City School for many years. Beth was an avid gardener and she loved every one of her beautiful flowers! She was a member of D.A.R. and a long-time, active member of Second Presbyterian Church.The visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, April 6 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memphis Union Mission or the charity of donor’s choice.
