Elizabeth B. Galloway's Obituary
Elizabeth Bollman Galloway passed away at Methodist Germantown Hospital, January 31, 2013, at the age of 84. Mrs. Galloway was born in Tuscola, Illinois, and spent her younger years growing up in Clarksdale, Mississippi. “Bettie” attended The Stratford School, and was a graduate of the University of Alabama, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Memphis has been her home since 1950 and she has been a very active member of Idlewild Presbyterian Church. She is preceded by her husband of 48 years, Phillip H. Galloway. Mrs. Galloway leaves her daughters; Mary Galloway Wade, of Memphis, Ginger Galloway Pitts, of Dallas Texas, and Cynthia Galloway Semmes, of Oxford Mississippi, grandchildren; Gerald Wade III, Katherine E. Wade, Allison S. Wade, Phillip A. Pitts, Emily G. Semmes, and Sophie M. Semmes. The family will receive friends Monday, February 4, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:30, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Idlewild Presbyterian Church, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
