Elizabeth C. Evans' Obituary
Elizabeth C. Evans, 94, was lifted up to Heaven in the arms of God’s angels on September 17, 2013. She’s now walking on the streets paved in gold, reunited with loved ones and made anew through His grace, love and mercy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Walter Evans. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Elizabeth had been a beloved member of Bellevue Baptist Church since 1992. She loved attending her JOY Sunday school class. She was a gifted artist in both oil and porcelain painting. Her work in porcelain included making dolls and creating the clothes in which she dressed them. Over the years, her works of art won numerous awards in local competitions. Her porcelain painting was featured in national publications. Elizabeth enjoyed collecting Teddy bears and dolls and was a member of Southern Belles Doll Club and past President of the Memphis Doll Club. Most importantly she lived her life sharing God’s love with family, friends and acquaintances. She was quick to love and quick to forgive, she lived her life giving glory, honor and praise to her Heavenly Father. Elizabeth leaves two daughters, Sue Rhodes and Elaine Enis, two son in laws, Terry Rhodes and Larry Enis, a grandson, Joseph Forte, his wife Reba and two great grand children, A.J. and Samuel Forte. She also leaves her beloved dog Pepi.
