Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Comella's Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Comella, 82, of Germantown, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John Michael Comella, Jr., her parents, Josephine and Nello Pacini, and sister, Darlene Moore.
Mrs. Comella is survived by her three children, Virginia Larsen (Mark), Josie Emanus (Chris), and John Comella, III., (Shauna), six grandchildren, Poul Larsen, John Larsen, Tori James, Jenna-Claire Comella, Sarah James and Gabriel James, sister, Rosemarie Ferrante and many extended family members.
After graduating college Betty chased her dreams to become a school teacher. Betty's pride was in her school and the students she taught. She shared her passion for learning with her students she taught through the years. After 35 years, being a devout catholic, she retired from Holy Rosary School. Betty enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 9 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The funeral mass will be on Friday, September 10 at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 4851 Park Avenue in Memphis. The committal service will immediately follow, via an escorted cortege, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
At the request of the family, in lieu of customary remembrances, donations can be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
