Eleanor Galella's Obituary
Eleanor Galella, loving wife of Eugene Galella, passed away peacefully Monday evening March 26th at the age of 93. She leaves behind a devoted husband and family; her husband of 68 years, Eugene Galella, children – Wayne (wife Madelyn), Steve, Jean (husband Steve), John (wife Theresa); grandchildren – Elaine (husband Philip), Grant, Graham, Shelby, Stephanie, Sophia, Peyton; and great grandchild – Eleanore. Eleanor was preceded in death by her sister Juanita, her mother Della and father Luther all of Laurel, Mississippi. She also leaves behind her sisters, Ouida and Roberta both of Laurel. Eleanor grew up in Laurel, Mississippi where she met her husband Eugene. They moved to Memphis soon after marriage. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and lifelong role model. She lived a long life filled with grace, joy, laughter, and inspired those around with her gentle nature – a true Southern Lady. She always had a smile on her face and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her laugh was contagious! Eleanor loved her family deeply and those who knew her were inspired by her amazing spirit. She was an exceptional cook, skillful gardener, and avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bible-study, and singing.Visitation will be held from 5 to 7PM at Memorial Park (5668 Poplar Ave.) on Thursday, March 29th. Service is at 2:30 March 30th at Memorial Park.
