Elbert was one of my best friends. I’ve known him for 13 years. We both worked at Juvenile Court. He cared about every child and teen he met there. He would do anything for anyone. I never heard him judge anyone. He always found the good in everything. Words cannot express how much I will miss him. He gave me the best advice and had the most peaceful demeanor. It was an honor to be his friend. He loved his family so much. The most important thing I learned from him was to treat others with compassion and love. My heart hurts for everyone that knew him. He walked his talk one hundred percent. I was so fortunate to have such an amazing friend.
At a young age, I had the honor to know Elbert as the devoted father to my childhood friend, Allison & sister, Emily. As an adult, I had the honor to know Elbert as a kind & generous man sharing many a conversation over the years. Mostly my prying about his latest case in helping the life of a youth or he conversing about his joy as a father to Allison and Emily. Elbert endlessly spoke of his deep pride and admiration in not only being a father to you both, but of the amazing women you have become. My sincerest condolences, Allison and Emily. You are in my thoughts. -Faith Neenan
