Elaine Capps' Obituary
Elaine Capps (Laney), 80, of Germantown, Tennessee, was called to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Methodist Germantown Hospital. Elaine was the daughter of Charles Arthur Capps and Pauline Rabold Capps of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Loving Sister -Aunt - Friend
She leaves behind her sister, Marcy Coles Byers, brother-in-law John Robert Byers, a loving niece—Lauren Ashley Coles of Madison, Alabama, her “Honey Bunny,” with whom she shared a special bond, two step-nieces, Rebecca Byers, Olive Branch, Mississippi, Elizabeth Byers, Conroe, Texas, and several cousins of Springfield, Missouri.
Elaine obtained her undergraduate and Master of Nursing degrees from the University of Memphis and her Nurse Practitioner’s degree from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona. She devoted her professional career to nursing and helping others. Her many interests included travelling, teaching nursing, becoming a Master Gardner, and jewelry making.
For over twenty years, she was a ferocious warrior against cancer and many other catastrophic illnesses she suffered, but she never gave up, she was a fighter. Some of her most cherished in life were family, her many friends, flowers, and angels.
A celebration of life for Elaine Capps will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, with the following arrangements held at: Church of the Holy Spirit; 2300 Hickory Crest Drive, Memphis, Tennessee 38119
Visitation – 10 a.m.
Holy Mass – 11 a.m.
Luncheon – 12:15 p.m.
Graveside Services – 2 p.m. - Escorted processional from church
