Eileen Whitney Kyle's Obituary
Eileen Whitney Kyle, 18, died June 2 at St. Francis Hospital. She is survived by her mother Laura Kyle, father Joseph Kyle, brother Robert Kyle of Memphis, grandmother Florence Aileen (Sue) Menard, grandfather Wilbrod Menard, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Eileen graduated from White Station High School where she ranked in the top five percent of her class, was a member of the National Honor Society, cross country and swim teams, and Amnesty International. She won statewide awards as a violinist, was a member of the Memphis Youth Symphony, and served as a 2008 Memphis in May Student Ambassador to Turkey. She attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota on scholarship where she was a member of the choir and orchestra. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m, Friday, June 5 at Memorial Park Funeral Home followed by funeral service there at 11:30 a.m., and burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Eileen Kyle Memorial Fund at Ric Nuber YMCA, Wolf River Conservancy, Memphis Youth Symphony, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
