Edwin Dale McBryde's Obituary
Edwin “Mac” Dale McBryde,86, of Cordova, TN passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 21, 2024. He was born in Union County Mississippi where his family worked as farmers. He met his wife when he was twenty-two while roller skating with her sisters while she struggled to get her balance. He came to her rescue and helped her skate the rest of the night.
He was always known for his work ethic and drive. He served in the Mississippi National Guard, was a lifelong truck driver for Yellow and Southern Xpress, and member of Bellevue Baptist Church for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Richard Mcbryde and Claudia Rudell McBryde. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Virginia Patricia Buchanan McBryde; two daughters, Cyndi Pittman and her husband Mark of Germantown, TN, and Marcia Ross and her husband Richard of Piperton, TN. He leaves seven grandchildren, Chelsea Pittman, Casey Lawrence and her husband David, Caleb Pittman and his wife Parker, Hayden Ross, Hudson Ross, Richlyn Ross, and Cole Pittman; and six great-grandchildren, Brenden, Graeme, Peyton Ann, Savannah, Aiden, and Isla. He is also survived by four siblings, William “Billy” McBryde, Caroline Shelton, Roger McBryde, and Larry McBryde.
The service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral home at 2:00 pm. Visitation is from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral home.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to St Jude’s Research Hospital.
