It was a privilege to be a close friend to Ed since first meeting in first grade at the Memphis State Campus Training School. I can truly say he was one of the most intelligent and widely read people I have known. It was a delight to discuss history and political topics with him as he had almost a total recall of facts, events and people from the past. There are many fine memories of Ed as a friend and community leader. Sara and I have shared so many fun times with Ed and Sue over the years.
