Edward E. Travis' Obituary
Edward Elliott Travis, 89, died peacefully December 17, 2018. He was a Godly man, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Born in Helena, Arkansas on April 10, 1929, he attended school in Helena and then engineering school in Memphis, Tennessee. He spent most of his career in broadcasting as an engineer and retired from WHBQ in Memphis. He and his wife, Josephine, were longtime members of CrossRoads UMC. Ed and his bride of 68 years were married on May 27, 1950. They raised two daughters in a loving home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eura and Howard Travis, and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Josephine, daughters Sherry (David) Essary and Donna (Steven) Snow, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Bill Travis, and sister Margueritte Stanbery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 20 from 12:00p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at CrossRoads United Methodist Church, 9315 East Shelby Drive, Collierville, Tennessee, with funeral service immediately following.
