Edward Travers' Obituary
Edward M. Travers, 81, of Bartlett, TN died Saturday, June 12, 2010 after a short illness. He was retired from Mobil Oil Corp. and owned his own oil company Travers, Inc. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years Diane J. (Finn) Travers of Bartlett, TN, a son Richard Travers of Memphis, TN, daughters Tracey A. Moffit (Robert) of Cordova, TN and Kelly (Billy) Crisel of Lakeland, TN, four grandchildren Andrew, Robbie, Peyton, & Mallory. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Gertrude Travers of St. Louis, MO., his brother John Travers and his sister Mary Travers Delargy. He also leaves behind his sister Helen Travers Mohan, brother Robert Travers, Ronald Travers, Jimmy Travers of St. Louis, MO, and his brother Donald Travers of Gautier, MS. He was a veteran of the Korean War and attended Washington University in St. Louis. He was a member of Colonial Country Club in Cordova and was a lifelong, avid golfer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A visitation and service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, June 17, 2010 with the visitation from 2 until 4pm and the service to follow at 4pm. Burial services will be private.
