Edward K. Thiele Sr.'s Obituary
Edward K. Thiele Sr. passed away on September 27, 2025 in Bartlett Tennessee.
He was born on July 31, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to Theodore and Dolores Thiele. He was the second of three sons. He entered the Marine Corps after high school and served during the Korean War as a crew chief of a search and rescue helicopter.
Edward married Shirley Cannon in 1955 in Memphis and they had three children, Cindy, Terry and Eddie. They were married for 48 years until Shirley’s passing in 2003.
After leaving the Marine Corps, Edward went into commercial printing with Eastex Packaging, Johns Manville, and ended his career as a shift manager with Riverwood International.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Thiele, his parents Theodore and Dolores Thiele, his brother Bobby Thiele, his daughter Cindy Thiele, and his granddaughter Jennifer Gipson Bills.
He is survived by his brother Ted Thiele, daughter Terry Thiele Gipson (Mike), his son Eddie Thiele (Mary), and four grandchildren Patty Delong, Melissa Simpson, Nicole Hatcher, and Jordan Thiele, and 11 great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Thiele will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:00am in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive family and friends an hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.
