Edward Pierce's Obituary
Edward A. Pierce, 89, of Memphis, TN passed away on September 26 at Primacy Healthcare after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Williamson Pierce. He was retired from Levi Strauss. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as Captain in the Army Air Force with the 446 Bomb Group. As an Air Force Pilot, Edward flew B. 24’s in England and Germany, and flew 32 missions over Germany. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and an avid golfer. He leaves a daughter, Deborah Wertz, of Cary, NC and two sons, Edward A. Pierce of Brandon, MS and Robert L. Pierce of Memphis, TN. He also leaves a sister, Geneva Pierce Dalton of Jackson, TN and three grandchildren. Services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, September 29 at 11:30 am with visitation on Friday, September 28 at 5:00 pm. Entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
