Dear family, we had the honor of being Jim And Rose’s neighbors for the past twelve years. They came into our lives during some tough periods of complexity in our family. They saw us through two bouts of breast cancer, sudden passing of my 82 year old father, multiple years of Alzheimer’s. Their door ( garage door) was always open and inviting. When anyone in our family needed some parent or grandparent wisdom they were there for us. They allowed us to walk in on any family event and any holiday. If the garage door was up – WE WERE IN.My son lost his grandfathers too early for him to have teenage grandfather talks. Jim was always there to lend an ear or offer non parent loving grandfather advice. My son looked up to Jim. They both played first base in baseball, they also shared golf and basketball stories. If my son was down because he may have had a bad day I would send him over to see Jim and Rose usually carrying some soup. We will miss seeing them but we have them in our hearts ! One day we will see them in heaven! The Mele’s
