Edward Trump Hamlet's Obituary
Edward Trump Hamlet Sr. went to be with our Lord on January 30th, 2017. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Carolyn W. Hamlet. His daughter, Jayne Hamlet Mitchell (Blaine), his sons, Edward Trump Hamlet Jr. and Richard L. Hamlet (Ginger), his grandchildren Natalie Hamlet Metcalf (Andrew), Stephanie Hamlet Turner(Chris), Richard Lucian Hamlet Jr., Hunter Sisson Hamlet, Edward Trump Hamlet III, Joshua Trump Hamlet, Zachary Tye Hamlet, along with six great grandchildren. His sister, Adina Hamlet Stone, Niece Adina Joy Stone and Nephew, Frank B. Stone III (Teresa). Edward graduated from Deshler High School in Tuscumbia, Alabama, then Southwestern at Memphis College, LaSalle Extension University then The University of Memphis Law School. He played football in high school and college. He served in the United States Air Force. He achieved a long successful career as an Attorney at Law, holding also the designation of Certified Public Accountant. He was formally an active member of the American Bar Association. He was recognized by the Tennessee Bar Association as a Senior Counselor at Law. He formerly served as an Elder in multiple Presbyterian Churches and was an active member in the Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC) at the time of his passing. He served faithfully in the CUMC Lamp Lighter Class, the CUMC Friday morning prayer breakfast group and the CUMC Men’s Prayer Group weekly power lunch. He was active in the visitation of both CUMC members and others who had special needs. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of Calvary Rescue Mission and Global Ministries Foundation. He enjoyed hunting quail during his life, watching sports events and being with his family. His funeral will be on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Christ United Methodist Church on Poplar Avenue. Visitation will precede the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. There will be a private family graveside service. A reception will be held in the Christ United Methodist Church parlor at 3:30pm.
