Edward E. Counce's Obituary
Edward Elwell Counce, 94, of Memphis, passed away November 18, 2009. Mr. Counce was a ninth generation American and a founding member of The Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. He was very talented at painting pictures, turning wood bowls, handcrafting plank on frame ship models, and weaving, among his other creative interests. He retired as Operations Manager for the AT&T Memphis office with 44 years of service.Edward was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Phyllis Germaine Harris Counce, and by his brothers, Charles Frederick Counce, Jr., Oliver Joseph Counce and Harold James Counce. He is survived by three sons: Edward E. Counce, Jr. and wife Dorris; David O. Counce and his wife Prarie; Philip F. Counce and his wife Sharon, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 21 at The Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit located at 2300 Hickory Crest Dr., Memphis, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
