Edna Vanlandingham's Obituary
Edna Mae “ Mae Mae” Vanlandingham passed away July 10th, 2017 at 95 years of age. She was born in Calhoun County, MS on June, 22 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Vanlandingham. She is survived by her 3 children, Billy Vanlandingham (Ruth Ann), Laura Dean Vines, Kay Humphreys (Robert); her five grandchildren, Josh Vanlandingham, Jody Pierson, Jason Vines, Stephanie Cherry, Robert Humphreys. Mae also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. After her husband died, she dedicated her life to spreading the love of Jesus by caring for the sick and elderly around her neighborhood and nursing homes; by being a model of hard work, love, and independence to her family; and by giving all of her energy to anyone, every time they needed it. When she retired as a florist, she moved to Nashville to be closer to family and then moved again as she aged to Decatur, AL where she passed. A celebration of her life will be Thursday, July 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park in Memphis. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
