Edna Hitt Hoffman's Obituary
Edna Hitt Hoffman, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Warrenton, VA, on November 4, 1934, Edna was a woman of many passions. She found peace in her garden and was a proud member of the American Boxwood Society. She served her community with dedication as the past President of the Sherwood PTA and as the past President of the Women’s Bar Auxiliary, leading with grace and quiet strength.
Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; her life dedicated to those she adored most. She was a faithful servant of Christ, leading with prayerful and endless giving.
Though she had built a beautiful life in Memphis, TN, her heart always belonged in Virginia. Each summer, she gathered her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and returned to Mountain Lake, creating cherished memories that followed through her next generations, building memories along the way.
Her legacy is one of faith, family, and love. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Hoffman Sr.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Thomas R. Hoffman (Evanthia) and Daniel C. Hoffman Jr. (Vicki); grandchildren, Daniel C. Hoffman IIl (Kelsey), John Hoffman, Hunter Hoffman (Andrea), Cameron Estes (Taylor), and Lauren Johnson (Travis); and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on March 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the chapel of Christ Methodist Church. (4488 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38117) The funeral service will begin following visitation at 11:00 AM. The committal service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
