Edna Carter Baker's Obituary
Edna Carter Baker, passed away on March 29, 2019 at the age of 90 after a battle with chronic leukemia. She was preceded in death by, her husband, Onnie Lee Baker, an infant son, Randy Baker, a son, Andrew Lee Baker, and five siblings.She was a loving Christian women that took great joy in her family and a member of Germantown Baptist Church for over 65 years. Mrs. Baker is survived by, three sons, Steven Carter Baker, Paul Douglas Baker and his wife Beverly, and Arthur David Baker and his wife Beth, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.Mrs. Baker was a lifelong Memphian, graduate of Treadwell High School, die-hard fan of the Atlanta Braves and The University of Memphis Basketball.She enjoyed being around people and being productive. She spent over 30 years as a merchandise inspector at Sears Crosstown from where she retired. After retirement, she started a new career as an invoice agent at Power and Telephone for 18 years. She loved being involved and doing for others. She took great pride in doing everything right and giving it her best.A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.The funeral service and celebration of her life will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery. 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, Tennessee 38119 “A Fitting Farewell for Everyone”
