Edmond Thomas (Tommy) Ash Jr.'s Obituary
Edmond Thomas (Tommy) Ash, Jr. was born September 16th, 1938, in Jacksonville, Fl. and passed away on October 23, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Nona and Edmond Ash, Sr.
Tommy was retired from Mississippi River Sales which he and his partner Aaron Russell co-owned. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to have known him.
Tommy was an avid fan of Notre Dame football and University of Memphis Basketball. He loved playing cards. While at Page Robbins Adult Day Care you would often find him teaching some of the senior students from Houston High School how to play Blackjack. Or at a table with a few of his gentlemen friends playing cards. He loved music, New York, family and life. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face.
Tommy leaves behind his wife of 39 years Kathy Ash of Collierville, TN., His son Scott (Irene) Ash of Sydney, Australia, two daughters Melanie (Rodney) Stokes of Madison, Ms., Laura (Shawn) Mitchell of Germantown, Tn. Stepdaughter Kristi Kadell. His sister Delores (Byron) Humphreys of Germantown, Tn., Niece Barbie (Jimmy) Thomas of Olive Branch, Ms. As well as his 6 beloved grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren which he adored.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, November 18th between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. for the blessing of the ashes with a celebration of life from 10:30 to 11:30 all in the Fireside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, 38119. (901) 767-8930. Funeral Service will be in the Garden of Serenity at the Niche, Memorial Park Cemetery.
