Edith Margaret Newman, 87, passed away November 29, 2023. She was born March 12, 1936, in Houston, Texas, to Essie Isadore Inglis and Norma Louise Inglis. She was loving Christian woman who cared deeply for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James R. Newman, her son Greggory Newman, and her great-grandson Cole. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Gass (Kenny); son, Timothy Newman; daughter-in-law, Beverly Newman; granddaughter, Nichole Mannon; grandson, Christopher Newman; granddaughter Meghan Gass; granddaughter Natalie Newman Johnson; granddaughter Mackenzie Gass; 2 great-grandchildren, Shay-Lynn and Sky-Wren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren Karson and Kayson. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. and services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 6 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.
