Eddie Karl Spragg's Obituary
Eddie Karl Spragg, 86, of Cordova, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Mamie Nell and John Pomeroy. Mr. Spragg is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anita Burns Spragg, two sons, Steven Karl Spragg (Paula) and Kevin Spragg (Georgia), four grandchildren, Ryan Spragg, Tyler Spragg, Hunter Spragg and Jesse Cooper, and a great-granddaughter, Allie Spragg. Mr. Spragg was a Southside Scrapper. He went on to serve proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and earned a Bronze Star. After 22 years he retired as a Master Sergeant. After the military, he worked for Furniture Center as a Salesman. He was a member at Resurrection Catholic Church where he looked after the golf league for many years. He also loved to play and watch baseball. The family invites relatives and friends to share remembrances of Mr. Spragg on Tuesday from 5-8pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:30am at Resurrection Catholic Church, 5475 Newberry Avenue in Memphis. The burial will follow at 2pm at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be made in the name of Mr. Spragg to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice. All family, friends and golfing buddies are invited to any and all services. We thank you for your continued prayers.
